Wire rope clip
It is mainly used for the temporary connection of the wire rope and the fixing of the rear hand rope when the wire rope is worn and wound around the pulley, and the fixing of the rope head of the cable wind rope on the pick-up rod. It is the most widely used wire rope clamp in hoisting operations.
Precautions for the use of wire rope clamps: It cannot be used for a long time, and should be checked and scrapped regularly, and cannot be used repeatedly.
(1) The size of the clamp head should be suitable for the thickness of the wire rope. The inner net distance of the U-shaped ring should be 1~3mm larger than the diameter of the wire rope. If the net distance is too large, it is difficult to clamp the rope.
(2) When using, tighten the U-shaped bolts until the wire rope is flattened by about 1/3. Since the wire rope is deformed after being stressed, the rope should be tightened a second time after the wire rope is stressed to ensure the firmness of the joint. If you need to check whether the rope clip slides after the wire rope is stressed, you can use an additional safety rope clip to carry out. The safety rope clip is installed about 500mm away from the last rope clip. Release the rope end for a safety bend and then clamp it with the main rope, so that if the clip slips, the safety bend will be straightened, which is easy to find and reinforce in time. .
(3) The arrangement spacing between the rope clips is generally about 6~7 times the diameter of the wire rope. The rope clips should be arranged in one order. The U-ring part should be clipped on the side of the rope head, and the pressure plate should be placed on the side of the main rope.
(4) The correct number and method of arrangement:
The number of rope clips is generally not less than 3-5, the distance between the rope clips should be ≥ 6 times the wire rope warp, and the distance between the last clip and the rope head is ≥ 140mm. The number of clips depends on the diameter of the wire rope.
≤10mm set 3,
10-20mm set 4,
21-26mm set 5,
25-36mm set 6,
36-40mm set 7.
(5) Wire rope rope clips should be used together. When the rope diameter is below 10mm, the rope clips should be no less than 3, and when the rope diameter is 10-20mm, there should be no less than 4. The arrangement spacing between the rope clips is generally about 6 to 8 times the diameter of the wire rope. The rope clips should be arranged in one order. The U-ring part should be clipped on one side of the rope head, and the pressure plate should be placed on the side of the main rope.
After the wire rope clamp is installed, it should be checked for looseness once or twice. Normally, the nut needs to be tightened further.
(6) The following four points should also be paid attention to when using:
a) The size of the clip should be suitable for the thickness of the wire rope. The inner net distance of the U-shaped ring should be 1-3mm larger than the diameter of the wire rope. If the net distance is too large, it is not suitable to clamp the rope tightly, which is prone to accidents.
b) Be sure to tighten the bolts when attaching the chuck until the rope is flattened by 1/3-1/4 of the diameter, and after the rope is stressed, tighten the bolts of the chuck again to ensure the joint is firm and reliable.
c) The clips should be arranged in one order, and the U-shaped part is in contact with the rope head and cannot be in contact with the main rope, as shown in Figure a. If the U-shaped part is in contact with the main rope, after the main rope is crushed, it is easy to break the wire.
d) In order to check whether the joint is reliable and find out whether the wire rope is slipping, press another clamp about 500mm behind the last clamp, and release the rope end to a "safety bend". As shown in Figure b. In this way, when the wire rope of the joint slips. The "safety bend" is straightened first, at which point immediate measures should be taken.
