Standards for safe use, inspection and scrapping of slings and riggings

1. Slings without marks, inspection certificates or reports are strictly prohibited from being put into use.

2. Conduct daily inspection before use. If the damage of steel wire rope or metal accessories exceeds the scrapping standard, it is strictly prohibited to put them into use.

3. Overload is strictly prohibited.

4. Adopt threading type knot rope hoisting, and the natural included angle of rope sleeve is generally 120 °. It is forbidden to change the binding state of the steel wire rope in any way (such as knocking, etc.) after the heavy object is lifted. Forcibly changing the state of the rope sleeve with external force will make the included angle of the rope sleeve greater than 120 °, which will cause local overload of the steel wire rope.

5. The slings of metal accessories such as chains, hooks and rings of special devices shall be connected with each other by shackles, and their rated load shall be equal.

6. The lifting shall be stable and the impact load shall be avoided.

7. Take effective measures to avoid bending of steel wire rope at acute angle or collision with load.

8. It is forbidden to drag or drop the wire rope sling from high altitude.

9. It shall not be used in the temperature range of - 40 ℃ to 100 ℃.

10. It shall not be used in corrosive gas, liquid or steam.

11. The steel wire rope that is reused after being out of service for more than half a year (including half a year) shall be inspected before use, and can be used only after passing the inspection. The steel wire rope with a storage period of more than two years must be sampled according to the national standard for tensile test, and can be put into use only after passing the inspection
